Frequently asked questions
Day 1: Long Beach (swimming, sunset) → night market (seafood). Day 2: VinWonders or Safari (a full day; with kids, VinWonders without question). Day 3: a snorkeling tour to the islands ($15-25, half a day) → Sunset Town + cable car (in the afternoon). Evening bonus: Grand World — a stroll and dinner. This plan covers the main must-sees. For the full experience we recommend 7+ days — see the 7-day itinerary.
Snorkeling: $15-25/person. VinWonders: $20-25. Safari: $15-20. Cable car: $10-15. Fishing: $20-40. Diving: $40-60. Massage: $8-15/hour. Many of the best activities are free: beaches, sunsets, temples, pepper farms, Grand World in the evening. For 2 weeks, budget $150-300 on activities for two people — that's enough for all the main ones.
Rain on Phu Quoc is usually short — 1-2 hours, then the sun returns. Options for rainy spells: the aquarium at VinWonders (indoors), a massage ($8-15/hour), cooking with market ingredients in your own kitchen, a cafe with WiFi and a book, shopping in Grand World, spa treatments and mud baths. After rain you often get the most beautiful sunsets — the clouds create dramatic colours.
Yes, snorkeling on Phu Quoc is safe for adults and children aged 6+. Organized tours include a boat, life jackets, masks and snorkels, and a guide. The water is warm (26-30°C year-round), with visibility of 5-15 m. There are no dangerous marine animals (sharks, jellyfish) in the snorkeling areas. The main rule: don't touch the corals or starfish with your hands — it harms the ecosystem.
With children aged 3-14 — absolutely. Rides, an aquarium with a tunnel, a water park, a castle — kids are thrilled for a full day. For adults without kids, half a day is enough: the aquarium (beautiful), a couple of rides, the water park. At $20-25, the ticket is very cheap for an Asian Disneyland. Tip: arrive at 9:00, start with the aquarium (fewer people), then the rides, and after lunch the water park.
Bottom line: you won't be bored on Phu Quoc
Snorkeling, VinWonders, the cable car, the night market, the sunsets — these are the must-dos. Plus dozens of lesser-known activities to fill 2-3 weeks. Stay in an apartment with a kitchen — and spend the money you save on food on tours instead.
